Escape the everyday!
Saddle up and escape everyday life on horseback whilst enjoying breathtaking views of Derry, Donegal and beyond. As you meander along lush fields, country lanes and quiet roads our guides will keep you entertained with stories about the landscape and characters. Have a wee cup of tea or coffee in the atmospheric old ruins of a traditional Irish Cottage and get to know the people who lived there before. After a day in the saddle you can relax in our Pool, Sauna and Steam Room before enjoying a luxury 4 course meal with options prepared by our award winning Chef, Noel Ward. (our food is locally produced and traditionally made).Your meal will be served with a bottle of chilled white wine, or a bottle of red wine. Why not finish off your night with a story telling of the White Horse and local area or a traditional session in our Lounge Bar.
1 Day Slow Adventure:
Adventure begins with our Equestrian Guide collecting you at the White Horse Hotel. En route to the stables you will stop at a traditional Irish Farm where we will collect your artisan lunch and you can see the local produce on offer at their farm shop (available June to February). At arrival at our destination you will meet your trusty steads and your trail ride will begin. Our trails range from the lush green fields of the Faughan Valley to Ardmore to the surrounding forest in Slievekirk at the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains. Here the open landscape changes dramatically as you enter the forest; the rich scent of pine filtering into the fresh country air. With deer and other wildlife roaming the forest, you might even catch a glimpse of something extra special. After a enjoyable date with Pauline return to The White Horse where you can relax in our 20m Pool, Sauna and Steam Room before enjoying a luxury 4 course meal with options prepared by our award winning Chef, Noel Ward (our food is locally produced and traditionally made). Your meal will be served with a bottle of chilled white wine, or a bottle of red wine. *(After dinner, relax in our Lounge bar and Experience some Local History and Irish Folklore in our Storytelling –Seanchai session of Northern Ireland’s uniquely rich cultures or get your foot tapping to some Traditional Irish Music, Irish trad sessions are informal gatherings of musicians playing traditional Irish music. Maybe if you have a wee note or tune you may wish to join in the singing and revelry) additional cost for this may apply depending on numbers.
